Dr. Ajit Marathe is a first-generation entrepreneur. He started his business in 1995 with his childhood friend, Mr. Rajendra Sawant. Beginning with interior work, they gradually started acquiring small plots in Neral and developed them as builders.In Mumbai, through Nirman, they ventured into SRA (Slum Rehabilitation Authority) and redevelopment projects, while outside Mumbai, they began building affordable homes for the common man and gained expertise in this field.
 Today, Neral and Nirman have become almost synonymous. “NRDL” is a leading name in building affordable homes for the common man. While managing all these business activities, driven by the feeling that one owes something to society, Dr. Ajit Marathe established the Nirman Foundation Charitable Trust (NFCT). They have supported the work of many individuals and organizations engaged in good social causes by awarding them the ‘Nirman Gratitude Award.’ NFCT consistently carries out various socially beneficial initiatives.
